We loved this list of books every geek should read their kids before they're 10. We don't even think you need to be a geek to enjoy them, and we think all kiddies like a little of the nerdy in their literature! It's so amazing once kids get hooked into books.
We have a few favourites we sell too. Top of the list are the books by Mark and Rowan Sommerset, they manage to achieve that balance of being hilarious for both kids and adults. Check out Baa Baa Smart Sheep, irreverent, gorgeously illustrated and written right here in New Zealand.

Hopefully your child isn't too much of a night owl, mums and dads need their rest at the end of a long day. We love these little night owl lamps though, super cute they run off three batteries and they look adorable in baby's room (and in older kids' rooms too). They're only $18.50 and we think a pretty great gift. They're just back in stock today, get 'em while they're hot!

I tell you what, baby clothes are wonderful and we just love the gorgeous little items we sell, but if you really want to give the gift that keeps on giving we reckon you can't go too far wrong with a good quality toy. My 3 year old daughter still plays with an (admittedly fairly ugly) elephant toy I bought we I was pregnant for the first time 10 years ago. We've just received a new shipment of really awesome toys. My favourite is the ABC tin radio, it is so retro looking and kids of all ages seem to love it.
